About Us

UK Screening Solutions Ltd was established in January 2010 to support Sellafield Site contracting companies with a local office providing a cost-effective alternative to D&A screening services available at the time. The following year UKSS expanded operations by opening a second office in Widnes, Cheshire to support our existing nuclear client base and develop relationships with new clients.

In March 2013 we further expanded our operations by achieving Achilles Link Up/RISQS accreditation; this enabled us to provide drug and alcohol screening services to Network Rail stringent standards. In order to deliver our services to our growing client base we increased our number of Collection Technicians to 130, based strategically throughout the UK.

In 2015 we experienced further growth by securing a prestigious contract to provide full Occupational Health services to the Mersey Link Project, which at the time was one of the largest construction projects in the UK.

Based in a purpose-built Medical Facility on site and utilising our Mobile Medical Units to provide cover for the 12 Mersey Link satellite sites, our experienced nurses & medics provided Emergency First Responder, drug & alcohol screening, and a range of health and wellbeing clinics to the 4000 strong workforce for the duration of this high-profile contract. Our portfolio of services has now greatly expanded since our establishment in 2010 and we now offer a full suite of Occupational Health services throughout the UK and Northern Ireland. We have a team of highly experienced OH nurses, Technicians and Occupational Health Physicians to support the delivery of a range of workplace related health services. We were delighted to achieve SEQOHS accreditation in 2019 which is the industry recognised Gold Standard.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we assisted our clients with managing their return-to-work policies ensuring a safe environment for their employees and provided innovative testing solutions as a DHSC approved covid screening provider; we are now rolling out our testing services to the general public for travel testing requirements.
